All of us at Beaver Park are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of one of our stalwarts and lifelong patron of the rugby club, Eric Smith, who passed away on the Monday night. Many of us knew Eric who was a regular at the club supporting many teams across various age groups including the 1st, 2nd, Colts and the Women’s team. He was this season’s player sponsor for our Club Captain, Rob Smith.
Eric was at our most recent match on Saturday just gone and was as characterful as ever. Eventhough he was in pain he was a dedicated fan and a friend to us all for many years, to his very end, for which he deserves our utmost respect. All of us at Beverley RUFC would like to share our love and sympathies with Karen and the family. We will be raising a glass in Eric’s memory and having one minute silence before the Boxing Day Memorial Game.
